Veterinarians in Libertyville: Dr. Brown

Laura Brown, DVM

Dr. Brown graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She also received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Illinois. Dr. Brown began her veterinary career in Southern California primarily involved in equine medicine in thoroughbred race horses. She transitioned her focus to small animal medicine in 1989 when she joined Mission Animal Hospital in Oceanside, Cailfornia. She remained at Mission until 1992 when her husband’s job took the family to southeast Idaho. There Dr. Brown specialized in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Brown joined DuPage Animal Hospital in Villa Park, IL in 1993, (another husband transfer), and practiced small animal medicine until August of 1996 when she opened GreenTree Animal Hospital in Libertyville. Dr. Brown lives in Libertyville with husband Kris, daughters Sara and Clare, her two cats “Brownie” and “Lacey,” and her Golden Retriever, “Stanley.”

Veterinarian in Libertyville: Dr. Estrick

Sara Estrick, DVM

Dr. Sara Estrick graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May, 2000. She is an Iowa native and received her Undergraduate Degree at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Dr. Estrick practiced for one year at a small animal hospital in Kenosha, WI before coming to GreenTree in 2001. General medicine, behavior, and geriatric medicine are special areas of interest for Dr. Estrick. She lives in Grayslake, IL with her husband Neil, sons Jack & Henry, as well as dogs “Annie”, “Chip”, and “Tug”, and cat “Banjo”.

Veterinarians in Libertyville: Dr. Ianakov

Deni Ianakov, DVM

Dr. Deni Ianakov received her bachelor degrees in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. In May 2004, she obtained a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. As a new graduate, Dr. Ianakov was excited to join the GreenTree Animal Hospital team in July 2004, where she is building on her strong interest in orthopedics and pet dentistry. Dr. Ianakov resides in Highland Park, Illinois with her husband Luis, daughter Giselle, son Sebastian and rat terrier “Ziggy”.

Veterinarian in Libertyville: Dr. Hardy

Laura Hardy, DVM

Dr. Laura Hardy received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State in 1986. She then served a year-long internship at the Veterinary College of Kansas State University. Dr. Hardy has interests in the care of exotic pets, soft tissue surgery, pet dentistry, and general medicine. Born in Cleveland Ohio, Dr. Hardy has also lived in New York, Virginia, Iowa, Oregon, and California before moving to Illinois in 1990. Before coming to GreenTree, Dr. Hardy worked at Dundee Animal Hospital. Along with her husband, Mark, and two children, Sarah and Sam, Dr. Hardy shares her home with dogs “Tucker” and “Penny”, cat, “Ace” and a menagerie of fish, frogs, snakes and lizards.

Veterinarians in Libertyville: Dr. McKenzie

Susan McKenzie, DVM

Sue McKenzie is a 1992 graduate of Michigan State University. She has practiced in St. Louis, Missouri at Hickey College as a Veterinary Technician Educator and attending veterinarian and in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a small animal Veterinarian, seeing cats, dogs and small pocket pets. Dr. McKenzie has now moved to the Chicago area with husband Jeremy and two children Ben and Jillian. She currently has no four legged pets as Jillian is allergic to dogs and cats. Hopefully she will grow out of it soon as Ben has begun asking for a puppy on a regular basis.

Veterinarian in Libertyville: Dr. Morton

Erica Morton, DVM

Dr. Erica Morton graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016, and is very excited to start her new career at GreenTree. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in 2009. She lives with her fiancé in Gurnee, and they are excitedly anticipating and planning their wedding, which is set for September 2017. Dr. Morton has a keen interest in exotics and companion animal medicine, ultrasound, and orthopedics. She will be seeing our exotics and pocket pet patients here at GreenTree. She has a ball python, Cuda and 5 crested geckos at home, Smeagol, Icterus, Zora, Drakonas, and Hermes. She is hoping to adopt a small dog in the near future. Her favorite activities include archery, karaoke, video games and movies, and reading mystery, fantasy, and romance novels in her spare time. Erica is enthusiastic about continuing to expand her knowledgebase, and is looking forward to building lasting relationships with our clients and of course the pets!

Doreen Taylor, CVPM

Doreen is a graduate of Roosevelt University with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. She joined the GreenTree Team in 2005 as the practice manager. In 2013 she received her Veterinary Practice Manager Certification through the Veterinary Hospital Management Association. She shares her home with her husband Jeff, two canine kids “Pluto”, a german shorthaired pointer, “Dillon”, a boxer, and her siamese clan (“Nemo”, “Ariel”, “Sebastion”).

Cathy Reilly

Cathy joined the GreenTree Team in 2002 as the Front Office Manager. Cathy created and runs the puppy socialization classes offered at GreenTree, and is a talented dog (and cat) trainer. She lives with her husband Pat, dogs “Dixie” and “Maybel,” “MiG” and “Maverick,” and cats “Clover” and “Ethel.”
