Veterinary Technician

Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Technician to our team! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking and who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have at least 1-2 years’ previous experience in veterinary medicine. We are AAHA certified, cat-friendly, and utilize Fear Free techniques.

Essential Functions

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Ability to work on weekends
  • Previous veterinary medicine experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday with weekend availability

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience: 1 year veterinary experience (preferred)

License/Certification: Veterinary Technician Certification (preferred)

Veterinary Customer Service Representative/Receptionist
Are you a people person? Are you an animal person? If you answered yes to both questions, you may be the person we are looking for!

At GreenTree, we pride ourselves in offering the highest standards of care in veterinary medicine while offering individualized care for each patient. We believe in the importance of building strong relationships with our clients and do so through communication, education, and understanding.

We are seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and motivated experienced full-time Veterinary Client Service Representative to join our busy AAHA accredited and Cat Friendly Certified practice that has served the Libertyville community for over 20 years. Our team consists of 6 full-time veterinarians and a well-trained support staff that includes several Certified Veterinary Technicians and Fear Free Certified professionals.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting clients
  • Answering telephone calls and taking messages for the veterinarians or technicians
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Checking patients in and out of the hospital
  • Handling clerical duties and financial issues
  • Handling and updating client files

Required skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer skills – knowledge in Cornerstone 8.6 is a huge plus!
  • Phone skills
  • Organizational skills
  • The ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of animal behavior
  • Basic animal interaction
  • A desire to learn and grow with the ever-changing environment of a veterinary hospital

Must be able to work mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.
